Application for Certificate

Important Information - Please Note:

This is not an application for a ‘Duplicate Diploma’ or an 'Application for Degree' form. To apply for your degree please submit the graduation application that is available in the student portal. Once you log in to your student portal click on Graduation>Apply for Graduation.

  • If you are pending grades for your certificate, your application will be cancelled. Please submit your application once all your grades have posted.
  • Names on certificates will appear exactly as they appear in our records.
  • We do not provide certificates for credentials. For questions about your credential status please contact the Credentials department at credentials@nu.edu. For proof of your credential, please contact the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC).
  • Once your certificate application has been processed, you will receive an email confirmation via your NU student email address.
  • If your name has changed since enrollment, i.e., marriage, legal name change, etc., you must submit proof of name change to have your new name appear on your diploma. Please contact the Records Department at records@nu.edu for assistance with this process.
  • Certificates are mailed approximately 8-10 weeks after receipt of your request.
